The Ping G740 Irons are engineered to deliver extreme forgiveness, easy launch and dependable ball speed for golfers seeking maximum confidence from their iron set. Compared with the G440, a 22 percent wider sole, 3 percent longer blade and thicker topline maximise perimeter weighting and position the centre of gravity lower in the head. The resulting higher MOI helps retain ball speed on mishits, while the wider dual camber sole promotes higher launch and smoother turf interaction.

A shallow face and shorter hosel save weight that can be repositioned within the cavity to further increase MOI while improving sound and feel. The thin, flexible face works with a new 3 piece PurFlex cavity badge to reduce unwanted vibration and enhance the impact experience. Longer progression between the 5 and 6 irons helps promote higher, longer shots, while precision milled grooves across all 4 wedge options provide dependable control for scoring shots around the green.
