The White Hot #1 is about as pure a heel-shafted blade as Odyssey has ever built. The head is a simple, compact shape with almost no visual clutter, and the shaft enters right at the heel, which produces heavy toe hang and a putter that wants to swing on an arc. For a player with a naturally rotating stroke it feels effortless, because you are not fighting the head to open and close it.

The reason the White Hot name has lasted decades is the insert. That urethane face is soft off the middle without going dead, and it gets the ball rolling quickly rather than hopping, which is what makes long lag putts easier to judge. Left handed blades in good condition are not easy to find, so this is a decent pickup for a lefty who prefers a traditional look over the modern mallet.
