The G2 was released in 2004 and was one of Ping's most popular irons of its era. It is a cast stainless steel cavity back with weight pushed low and out to the perimeter, so the head stays stable when you catch it off the toe or heel and the ball gets into the air without much effort.

A big part of the appeal with this set is how complete it is. Running from 3 iron all the way to sand wedge, you have matching clubs for long approaches right down to greenside bunker shots, all with the same look and feel. The shafts are regular flex steel at standard length, and the white dot lie angle is 3 degrees upright, which tends to suit taller golfers.
