TaylorMade built the Qi iron around a specific problem: most game improvement irons quietly exaggerate the right miss for a right handed golfer, which is the very miss the target player is already fighting. Qi uses a patented face design to control how the face flexes and cut down on unwanted cut spin, so shots finish straighter through the whole set.

Cap Back Design replaces the steel back of the head with a lighter composite badge, freeing up mass to be positioned where it does most good and combining the benefits of a hollow body and a cavity back. FLTD CG places the centre of gravity lowest in the long irons for launch, then moves it progressively higher for control in the scoring clubs. HYBRAR Echo dampers behind the face keep the sound clean.
