Fitted with a M.A.S.2 5-65 Regular flex graphite shaft.

The R5 Dual was TaylorMade's forgiveness focused driver back when the R series was in its pomp. The dual crown design creates a stepped section across the top of the head, which allowed engineers to shift weight lower and further back than a conventional crown would allow. That extra depth of centre of gravity makes the ball easier to launch and keeps the head more stable when you catch one out of the heel or toe.

It is a compact, traditional looking head by modern standards, which suits golfers who find today's oversized drivers a bit intimidating at address. At 9.5 degrees with a regular flex shaft it works well for a player with a decent turn of speed who wants a slightly lower, more controlled flight. For the money it is a lot of driver, and a nice one to have as a backup.
