Fitted with a Hundred Series stiff flex graphite shaft.

The R540 XD is a proper piece of TaylorMade history from the era when titanium drivers were still finding their feet. XD stood for extra distance, and the head is a full titanium construction with a deeper face and a larger profile than the standard R540, aimed at players who wanted a bit more confidence looking down at the ball.

Inverted Cone Technology sits behind the face, thickening the centre and thinning the perimeter so that ball speed holds up better away from the middle. It is a simple idea that TaylorMade still uses in one form or another today. At this price it makes a great spare, a first proper driver, or a bit of nostalgia for anyone who grew up watching this club on tour. Do not be surprised if it still goes further than you expect.
