Fitted with a Kuro Kage 60 stiff flex graphite shaft.

SIM Max was the forgiveness focused head in the SIM range and it was a real step forward for TaylorMade. The Inertia Generator on the sole is the part everyone notices, a raised aerodynamic ramp at the back of the head carrying a heavy sole weight. It does two jobs at once, cutting drag on the downswing while parking mass as far from the face as the design allows for a high MOI.

The face is Speed Injected Twist Face, meaning each head was individually tested and injected with resin to bring it as close to the legal speed limit as possible. Twist Face itself adds loft and open angle in the high toe and takes it away in the low heel, correcting the two most common mishits. Underneath, the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket keeps ball speed alive on low strikes. At 9 degrees in stiff it suits a player with speed who wants a strong flight without losing the safety net.
