The AP2 was the iron that persuaded a generation of tour players that a cavity back could be a proper players club. It is forged, so the feel at impact is soft and communicative, but with high density tungsten weighting positioned in the toe and heel to raise the moment of inertia well beyond what a blade could offer.

A single 3 iron is a useful thing to be able to buy. It might be filling a gap at the top of an existing set, replacing a club that got damaged, or giving you a long iron option to test before committing to a full set. The AP2 shape is compact with a thin topline and minimal offset, so it looks the part behind the ball, and in stiff flex this is set up for a player with reasonable speed.
