Wilson's D250 was built on two ideas, lightness and launch. Right Light technology strips weight out of the head, shaft and grip so you can swing it faster for the same effort, and Speed Sole technology thins the transition from face to sole so the ball still comes off quickly on shots caught low, which is where most club golfers actually make contact.

Heel and toe weight pods carry around fifty grams out to the perimeter, which makes the head noticeably more stable when you miss the middle. It is an oversized head with plenty of offset, so it is aimed squarely at the higher handicapper. Set covers 5 iron through pitching wedge in regular flex, and at this price it is one of the cheapest ways into a properly matched modern set.
